Kazakhstan to export cars to Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan

BISHKEK (TCA) — A Kazakh delegation headed by East Kazakhstan province Governor Danial Akhmetov last week visited Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan to discuss distribution of cars manufactured by Kazakhstan’s BIPEK AVTO-AZIA AVTO in these countries, the East Kazakhstan governor’s website reported.   

The Kazakh delegation had talks with Kyrgyz Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Pankratov and Tajik Deputy Prime Minister Azim Ibrahim. The sides discussed distribution, sales and after-sale service of Lada cars in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.

BIPEK AVTO-AZIA AVTO group of companies is the largest holding in the automobile market of Kazakhstan, established in 1992. The group includes AZIA AVTO car assembly plant and dealer companies which sell and service Lada, Skoda, Chevrolet, KIA, UAZ and Renault vehicles.

BIPEK AVTO-AZIA AVTO on February 9 said it started official deliveries of LADA vehicles from Kazakhstan to Turkmenistan.

In October 2015 the Group signed an agreement with Russia’s AVTOVAZ on cooperation in Central Asian markets. The Group was entitled with distribution, retail and after-sales service of LADA vehicles on the markets of Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Tajikistan.

Vehicles will be supplied to Central Asian countries from East Kazakhstan where the new car assembly plant, AZIA AVTO Kazakhstan, is currently under construction in Ust-Kamenogorsk.  

The plant in Ust-Kamenogorsk is the largest project in Kazakhstan’s automotive industry.

Construction of the plant with annual production capacity of 120 thousand vehicles, as well as welding, painting and components production workshops in Ust-Kamenogorsk was launched in November 2013.  

Kazakhstan, Siberian and Ural regions of Russia, and countries of Central Asia will be key sales markets for vehicles of the future plant.

Total investments in the plant stand at $1.47 billion.
