Kazakhstan and Russia to hold forum of interregional cooperation

ASTANA (TCA) — On November 9, the Russian city of Chelyabinsk will host the XIV Forum of Interregional Cooperation of Kazakhstan and Russia, with the participation of Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev and Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan reported.

The business part of the forum will be held on the site of the Russian Electric Engines plant. The program includes panel sessions where experts will discuss cross-border and interregional cooperation as a factor in the development of human capital, as well as intensification of cooperation in the development of the digital economy to build a single digital space for the Eurasian Economic Union.

Within the framework of the forum, a scientific and economic conference will be organized on the topic “Actual basis of the development strategy of the Russian Federation”, as well as a forum of rectors of Russian and Kazakhstan universities and a tourism exhibition with the participation of 16 Kazakhstani tour agencies.

According to the established practice, within the framework of the Forum, an extended meeting of the Russian-Kazakhstan Business Council on the theme “The role of business in the development of human capital” will be held, where Ayan Yerenov, chairman of the Board of the Chamber of Commerce of Kazakhstan, will act as co-chairman from the Kazakh side.

Kazakhstan and Russia share a long border and both countries are interested in developing trade and economic cooperation between the regions located along that borderline.
