China opens the year of tourism in Kazakhstan

ALMATY (TCA) — The two countries have already exchanged lists of tour operators responsible for sending and hosting of tourists from China, the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan reported on its website.  

July 1, 2016 will be the date of the official beginning of the organization of group tours of Chinese tourists to Kazakhstan in the framework of the Year of Chinese Tourism in Kazakhstan, said the press service of the Ministry for Investment and Development of Kazakhstan.

It is expected that the first Chinese tourist groups will arrive to Kazakhstan from Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China.

In addition, on May 20 the Embassy of Kazakhstan in China is planning to hold a road show with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Investment and Development of Kazakhstan, JSC Astana EXPO-2017, and major tourism operators of Kazakhstan and China. The focus of the meeting will be tourist and investment attractiveness of Kazakhstan, travel of Chinese tourist groups to Kazakhstan, participation of Chinese tourists in EXPO-2017 in Astana, and holding of the Year of Chinese Tourism in Kazakhstan.

China will have one of the largest pavilions at the forthcoming international exhibition EXPO-2017 in the Kazakh capital. In addition, Chinese participants in EXPO-2017, along with other participants of the exhibition that have already officially confirmed their participation in the event, will be able to enjoy special benefits and preferences in Kazakhstan along with their family members.
