Uzbekistan and India to Establish Cooperation in Defense Industry

As reported by the Ministry of Defense of Uzbekistan, an Uzbek-Indian seminar was held in Tashkent, where representatives of the military-industrial complex of the two countries discussed joint projects and cooperation. Among the participants in the seminar from India were representatives of Zen Technologies, TATA Advanced Systems, Bharat Dynamics, Apollo Micro Systems, L&T Defense, Bharat Forge, and Karman Drones Private.

“The participants of the event discussed promising areas for strengthening relations and new joint projects,” the Ministry of Defense said in a statement on its website.

In February, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev created by decree the Defense Industry Agency under the Ministry of Defense and the state unitary enterprise Uztechtrade, which imports military and dual-use products, on the basis of the State Committee for the Defense Industry.

Over the past five years, enterprises of the military-industrial complex of Uzbekistan have mastered the production of local light armored vehicles, drones, night vision devices, and various combat modules.
